Seen from the air, Ammerland consists of lots of green patches that show coloured spots here and there, these are the blooming gardens. In the middle lies a big black eye - the Zwischenahn Lake.

All around are parks and forests, meadows and fields, which together form a spacious, curved landscape. It not only pampers the eye, but also lets your mind run freely. Ammerland is known throughout Europe for this cheerful park landscape.
The Ammerland park landscape is characterized by an abundance of parks and gardens, and each one is a colourful oasis that provides relaxation from the grey of everyday life. Above all, the "Park der Gärten" and the rhododendron parks "Hobbie" and"Gristede" offer a great natural spectacle - in every season! Convince yourself and escape from everyday life in our colourful, lush green recreation area and get some fresh air.
At the end of April Ammerland wakes up from its slumber. Then the heyday begins in the numerous rhododendron parks and tree nurseries, some of which have been family-owned for more than 100 years. Almost all parks are open all year round and can therefore be visited at any time of the year. Most of the parks offer expert guided tours.
