Alte Staaßenbrücke - favorite place with listening station
In the west, Jörg Ridderbusch has transformed an old seating group into an artistic object in the interests of sustainability: Here, visitors can rest on marsh marigolds, lean their backs on reeds and watch dragonflies and frogs. Ridderbusch takes up the nature experience that many people associate with this unique nature reserve. Visitors sit here next to the old Staaßen Bridge, Augustfehn's only original folding Fehn Bridge, which was originally used to cross the valley. It was moved to this location in 1993 because a new traffic solution was required for the transition over the Aper Tief. At that time, the hiking trail was also laid out, which now connects this location with the town center. The bridge owes its name to the Staaßen family, who used to live next to the bridge. The name has been preserved to this day.
